Head of Finance for a listed healthcare company found in difficult circumstances
A reputed European technology group listed on a public exchange had acquired a medium-sized company in the healthcare sector. During its integration into the group, the head of finance and accounting of the acquired company stepped down and the vacancy had to be filled as quickly as possible.
A special aspect here was that there was a considerable backlog of work in the department due to the integration, while financial processes were confused and not cleanly defined. Employees in the finance and accounting department were rankled by it all and under considerable pressure in the face of manifold changes.
In searching for a candidate for the position, it was particularly important to the client that the future individual have extensive experience with a complex business model as well as with integration processes and support in merging different corporate cultures. On top of all this, IT know-how was also relevant, as the client had three different SAP systems in operation. The set of requirements also included appropriate professional skills and experience in finance and accounting in line with international accounting standards.
